Well even the most quoted can get it so wrong;;;;;;;;;;

 If you think that ante post betting is the D Bs  remember the most quoted of all seers Nostradamus published collections of prophecies that have since become famous worldwide. He is best known for his book Les Propheties (The Prophecies), the first edition of which appeared in 1555. Since the publication of this book, which has rarely been out of print since his death,  has attracted a following that, along with the popular press, credits him with predicting many major world events.
 Why quote him when we talking about horse racing ?  Well he prophesied on all known form available to him and his long range predictions were and are as about as reliable as the stuff put out about the sure fire winners at Cheltenham -- the past form does give a close prediction of what is going to happen BUT NOT What is going to happen
 and here is the one I love the best
in 1555 Nostradamus gave the following ---- "By the 20th century the tribes of Europe will,through wars and alliances, become one nation wherein they will have common borders and a common language. though remaining within the tribal structure this will become an enlightened age, health sport and the arts will predominate.The countries will have a common Currency.
In this change they will be led by the greatest of Philosophers, Artists ,and mathematicians -- The Greeks"

So Close -- So Far from the mark --- and all you have to do is predict the outcome of a horse race ! -- I am listening to the "experts" on a daily basis on the certainties of Cheltenham - and will expect the same sort of strike rate and the "Unlucky" sure things
