The older horses have prevailed with favourites giving a very poor show - the exception in the age bracket was the 6 yr old  Obaki De Grissay in an 11 runner race in which 6 pulled up! In the past the winners have either performed to run into a place or pulled / fallen in their previous run. 11 year olds are the oldest and 10 year old's have the edge . Horses are specifically targeted for the race and long lay off's hold no great terrors.
I am interested in watching the market for two animals today - Drybrook Bedouin  at the top of the weights who has course form (does tend to jump right handed when tired at the end of his race) and Atherstone Hill at the bottom of the weights.

its a fun race so am not going in strong but these two have chances for me

as ever most did not get into the race - 5 pulled up The progressive Atherstone Hill, off for 125 days having cut his leg when winning at Warwick, was up 7lb in a better race and appeared to run a tad lazily for the first half of the contest. He seemed to blow up leaving the back before keeping on again, but never looked likely to reel the winner in, and should prove sharper next time.

Few got into this marathon handicap chase and CLASH DUFF won with more in hand than the official margins implies. He´d looked all about stamina when a keeping-on fifth over 3m5f at Warwick the time before and, having moved into a prominent position towards the end of the back, galloped clear before idling/getting a little tired late on. It´s likely he has more to offer as a staying chaser.

My other selection Drybrook Bedouin Jumped right, held up behind, nudged along when stumbled, lost action and immediately pulled up before 14th, fatally injured - Horrible
